iPad’s pre-booking kicks off from tomorrow. Millions across US are expected to flood the Internet gateways in order to secure their iPad from day one. At the same time millions of technocrats and business professionals might stay away from the pre-booking window period. The much awaited iPad Wi-Fi with 3G version is not yet released. The pre-bookings can only be done for Wi-Fi only model.
Logically it does not make sense to pay for 3G and Wi-Fi separately. Either one of the connectivity options is fine for most of the users. Users can access free Wi-Fi services in leading restaurants, coffee bars and even while on work.
The 3G option would just give an extra edge to users who seek connectivity with faster internet interfaces. The 3G version is also slated to support EDGE and GSM networks. Ideally users should wait and watch. The electronic slate market should pick up eventually. Within span of a year or so users can expect breakthrough solutions in the electronic slate market.
iPad’s capabilities are yet to be demonstrated in real time. Therefore, leisure users should at least stay away from the pre-booking slots for the time being. As and when market develops and new features are released by Apple or best in class competitors they may consider booking one for them.
