Apple has announced that they are removing the ban on apps that offer the ability to make VOIP calls over 3G. With that news, they are approving an update from the iCall app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that let’s you make and receive phone calls for free on your iPhone via 3G or WIFI.
iCall is the only app that currently offers this feature. Hopefully google will have an app lined up now for their google voice service.
Since the iPad will have a microphone and speakers, it looks like the iPad will be more than capable to act as a phone as well.
You can download the iCall APP from the Apple App store by clicking here.
