Yeah you read it correctly: SHAtter will jailbreak every iDevice, including iPad, iPod Touch 4g, and the iPhone 4.
posixninja and pod2g have discovered the first exploit of the S5L8930 chip, aka, the A4, which allows for the use of unsigned code execution to create a tethered jailbreak. What makes this special is this chip is in every iPad, iPod Touch 4g, and the iPhone 4, which means that until Apple upgrades the iPad hardware, this tethered jailbreak will always work. And if you buy an iPad before Apple upgrades the hardware, will always be able to work.
SHAtter is not publicly available yet.
There is still a lot of work to be done by these guys, but SHAtter should come out soon. This is great news for any iPad user who hopes to jailbreak the iPad.
